PHILANTHROPY

Philanthropy, comes from the Greek work "Φιλανθρωπία".
Wictionary gives the following etymology for the word: From Late Latin philanthropia, from Ancient Greek. The prefixe phil- comes from ο φίλος ("ho philos") - the friend from the verb φίλω ("philo") which means to like oρ to love. -anthropy comes from the noun ανθρώπος ("anthropos") the man, the human.

  • contributions to a bake sale for the cause " For the cure" and Susan G Komen

  • learning about Unicef and deciding to participate on a"trick or treat for Unicef"
  • making a corner for Unicef in the classroom and inform the rest of the school community about our actions
  • reading the books "three cups of tea" and Listen to the wind" 
  • learning about  the nonprofit Central Asia Institute www.ikat.org , and the foundation  "Pennies For Peace" www.penniesforpeace.org

WAR ; Please, Do not open Pandora's Box ever again.

After reading the Greek myth and watching a short video about it, we discussed the origin and the true meaning of the myth as well as its extensions
We finally asked ourselves  a question about "HOPE''; "why was Hope in the same box with all the dreadful things???"
